Psalm 34

I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall ever be in my mouth.

I will glory in the Lord; let the humble hear and rejoice.

Proclaim with me the greatness of the Lord; let us exalt his name together.

I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me out of all my terror.

Look upon him and be radiant, and let not your faces be ashamed.

I called in my affliction and the Lord heard me and saved me from all troubles.

The angel of the Lord encompasses those who fear him, and he will deliver them.

Taste and see that the Lord is good; happy are they who trust in him!

Fear the Lord, you that are his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing.

The young lions lack and suffer hunger, but those who seek the Lord lack nothing that is good.

Come, children, and listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

Who among you loves life and desires long life to enjoy prosperity?

Keep your tongue from evil-speaking and your lips from lying words.

Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry.

The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to root out the remembrance of them from the earth.

The righteous cry, and the Lord hears them and delivers them from all their troubles.

The Lord is near to the broken hearted and will save those whose spirits are crushed.

Many are the troubles of the righteous, but the Lord will deliver him out of them all.

He will keep safe all his bones; not one of them shall be broken.

Evil shall slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be punished.

The Lord ransoms the life of his servants, and none shall be punished who trust in him.

We Await His Coming In Glory

Psalm 27:1

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom then shall I fear?  the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom then shall I be afraid?

Repeat this until you know and UNDERSTAND this proclamation of faith in the Lord.

One verse.

Three definitive attributes: light, salvation, strength.

When you have affirmed this truth, of those who belong to the Lord, daily in your home and life  you will also come to the point where “We await his coming in glory” is more than a sentence, more than a ‘desperate hope’, more than something we say during the Eucharist.  You will come to the realization that He is here.

He is with you.

Emmanuel.

God with us.

Ever-present, Omnipresent One, God and SAVIOUR.

Have no fear, God is there.

Acclaim God

“Let all the earth acclaim God.  Sing to the glory of His name, make His praise glorious.”

Psalm 66:1,2

give god the glory

This is an instruction.  An ORDER.  The Psalmist commands all the earth to acclaim God. We are commanded to “sing to the glory of His name, make His praise glorious.”

It is written, ‘the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof’. Therefore, “Let all the earth acclaim God.”

We must “sing to the glory of His name, make His praise glorious.”

Sing to the glory of God’s name.  His name is Holy.  Sing to its glorification.  Sing in sweet tones, rich melodies, or weakened voice, but “sing to the glory of His name”.  When we sing to the glory of His name, we, by consequence, make His praise glorious.

When we make his praise glorious (rich, true, pure, clean, wholehearted, free) we can cause an otherwise unresponsive Earth to ACCLAIM God.

The power is in the singing to the glory of His name, which makes His praise glorious, for as we sing that same glory fills our praise.

Sing.

ACCLAIM GOD!

Psalm 52 – The Mercy of God

You tyrant, why do you boast of wickedness against the godly all day long?
You plot ruin; your tongue is like a sharpened razor,  O worker of deception.
You love evil more than good and lying more than speaking the truth.
You love all words that hurt, O you deceitful tongue.
Oh, that God would demolish you utterly,  and topple you, and snatch you from your dwelling, and root you out of the land of the living!
The righteous shall see and tremble, and they shall laugh at him saying,
“This is the one who did not take God for a refuge, but trusted in great wealth and relied upon wickedness.
But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God, I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
I will give you thanks for what you have done and declare the goodness of your name in the presence of the godly.

Psalm 8

O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! Who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings has thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;

The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passes through the paths of the seas.

O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
